The incident occurred on July 24, 2025, along the Merritt Parkway in Westport, Connecticut.

McMahon was driving his 2024 Bentley Continental GT, a high-performance sports car valued at more than $300,000, when he reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, or over 160 km/h.

A Connecticut State Police trooper had attempted to pull over the speeding Bentley, but McMahon continued accelerating before braking late.

Dashcam video shows the vehicle weaving through traffic and rear-ending a BMW ahead of it on the busy roadway.

The force of the impact sent McMahon’s Bentley swerving violently into the guardrail, where it careened back across the lanes amid a cloud of dust, debris, and shattered car parts.

The collision damaged the rear of the BMW and left the luxury sedan heavily mangled at the front end and side.

Miraculously, despite the severity of the multi-vehicle wreck and deployed airbags, no one involved sustained serious injuries.

McMahon was seen inside his wrecked Bentley, appearing disoriented but otherwise unharmed as officers approached the scene.

Bodycam footage released in February 2026 reveals McMahon explaining to police that he had not driven the powerful car in some time and found it “too fast.”

He also mentioned rushing to his granddaughter’s birthday party as a factor in his haste.

Following the crash, McMahon interacted calmly with officers and the other driver at the roadside.

He was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and other traffic violations before being allowed to leave the scene.

McMahon later entered a pretrial diversion program, which could lead to the charges being dismissed upon successful completion, including requirements such as a charitable donation.

The damaged Bentley was towed away for repairs or salvage.

The timing of the crash added a surreal element, occurring on the same day that WWE legend Hulk Hogan passed away from a heart attack in Florida.

This coincidence drew even more attention to the wrestling world’s headlines.

Highway safety advocates have cited the video as a cautionary tale about the risks of excessive speeding in high-performance vehicles, especially on highways like the Merritt Parkway where traffic can change quickly.
